Gray Street Retail

2415 Gray Street is a 2,730 S.F. Retail Building located in a corner property where St. Charles Street and Gray Street intersect. This area, located south of downtown Houston, has been experiencing growth and transformation in the recent past and continues to do so. Thus far, the majority of the development has been residential, and our clients saw great potential in bring retail into the area.

The site is very compact, and at .28 acres, the challenge was to maximize building size and parking requirement. Several studies were generated with the solution being a 2,730 S.F. building with 11 parking spaces.  In terms of the site plan, the building is located on the north and is basically a linear building, running from east to west. This solution facilitated maximum parking as well as great visibility of the building as you approach it.  The building exterior is simple yet elegant, utilizing two types of masonry of different color and texture, to work with the articulations of the exterior. We saw an opportunity to create a taller element on the west end of the building which works as a "tower element".  The design features a canopy that runs along the front of the building facing south, or Gray Street.
